A health clinic offering free medical health and related services for the poor and homeless.  A joint effort sponsored by quest for excellence and gennesaret free clinic.

Mission Statement

To provide free medical care for the homeless and poor, and special needs population.

Jinny O'Brien Free Clinic is made possible through the collaborative efforts of Quest for Excellence and Gennesaret Free Clinic.  Over the years, Gennesaret Free Clinic has grown and thrived through the willingness, dedication, and hard work of volunteer health care professionals and others from the community.  Gennesaret Free Clinic has been recognized for its efforts both nationally and locally.  Gennesaret serves thousands of patients each year and distributes tens of thousands of prescriptions and over the counter medications.

Gennesaret (pronounced jen-NES-sah-ret) Free Clinic was started in 1988 when Dr. James A. Trippi, a local cardiologist, was volunteering at a soup kitchen.  As he watched the homeless people walk through the line he began diagnosing their ailments in his head.  When he asked if they had medical care, they replied, "No."  Seeing a need, Dr. Trippi packed his black bag and began treating homeless persons who slept on the pews of a local church.  From that encounter Gennesaret Free Clinic was born - a human response to a community need.
