Background
Quest for Excellence, formerly known as The Foltz Foundation, began in
November 1991 and incorporated on June 3, 1992, as a non-profit 501(c)3
operating foundation in Indiana. In January 2000, Quest for
Excellence became a public charity. The initial program, Ada's
Place,
began providing services for at-risk young males in November 1991. In
August 1992, John's Delaware Lodge began supplying affordable housing for former
clients of Ada's Place and clients of other local programs. In August
1993, the foundation assumed management of Agnes' Inn Between from Interfaith
Housing. The program was changed to include a youth program for the
children. In January 1994, Luise's Love Child Care Center began serving
children of homeless or at-risk families. The Scholarship Program awarded
its first scholarship in 1995. In late 1995, Ada's Place converted to
serve women. Billy's Manor opened in February 1997 to provide housing for
clients. In May 1997, W.I.N.G.S. began serving victims of domestic
violence. The Jinny O'Brien Free Health Clinic started in January 1998 and
operates in conjunction with the Gennesarret Clinic. The current challenge
is to coordinate and align all programs and services in a manner that will
facilitate and enhance the success of all youth and families served by Quest For
Excellence.
